Understanding Initial Costs

Deposit (Shikikin)

Usually 1-2 months' rent. Refundable when you move out, minus cleaning costs.

Key Money (Reikin)

Usually 0-1 months' rent. Non-refundable. Some properties have zero key money.

Agency Fee

Usually 1 month's rent + tax. Our fee for finding and securing your apartment.

Other Costs

Guarantor company fee, fire insurance, and first month's rent. We explain everything before you decide.
